报告人简介

Professor Arata NISHIMURA graduated at Osaka University in 1977. His major field was Welding Engineering. He got Master degree in 1979 and Doctor degree in 1982He became a research assistant in the welding engineering after Doctoral research and moved to National Institute for Fusion Science in 1991 to join the Large Helical Device (LHD) Project. He participated in the design and construction of the superconducting magnet, the refrigeration system, the cooling water system, the complex building and common ditches (tunnel) for LHD project. After completion of LHD, he established the fusion reactor engineering center in NIFS, and leaded the research and development in Japan Society for Fusion Engineering. In March, 2019, he retired from NIFS and received the title of Professor Emeritus from NIFS and the Graduated University of Advanced Sciences in Japan. Now, he is still working for the design and construction of fusion reactor in the world. In Hefei, China, there is Academy of Sciences, Institute of Plasma Physics (ASIPP). They have a project named BEST. He is visiting Hefei as a consultant on the design of BEST machine now.
