In this talk, I will discuss the optimal partial transport problem, in which free boundaries arise. The problem was first investigated by Caffarelli and McCann [Annals 2010], where they established the interior $C^{1,/alpha}$ regularity of the free boundary but left open the higher-order regularity and global regularity of the free boundary. In joint work with Jiakun Liu and Xu-Jia Wang, we completely settle the former, and together with Xian-duo Wang and Jiakun Liu, we have made several interesting progresses on the latter. In this talk, I will explain these results.

陈世炳,中国科学技术大学数学系教授、博士生导师,入选国家级青年人才计划,主持国家杰出青年基金项目,先后于美国MSRI和澳洲国立大学数学系从事博士后研究。长期致力于Monge-Ampere方程及其在最优传输和几何中的应用。在Ann. Math., CPAM等国际著名期刊发表论文多篇。
